As a cancer survivor, I received the news of Baptist Health’s new Women’s Cancer Center — set to open in 2026 — with great emotion and hope. This announcement represents not only a medical advancement, but also a major step toward more compassionate, comprehensive, and specialized care for the women in our community.
Why is this center so important?
Cancer doesn’t just affect the body — it impacts the mind, emotions, and the entire life of a person and their family. In such defining moments, having a place that offers diagnosis, treatment, and emotional support all under one roof can make a world of difference. The new Baptist Health center promises exactly that — and more.
With a focus exclusively on women’s cancer, the center will include:
Oncology services tailored specifically for women State-of-the-art technology for early detection and treatment Psychological and emotional support Spaces thoughtfully designed for patients’ overall well-being
An opportunity for the community
This center isn’t just a victory for those facing cancer — it’s an opportunity to strengthen our local healthcare network, advance medical research, and educate future generations about prevention and holistic care.
As a woman, mother, professional, and cancer survivor, I can confidently say that spaces like this save lives — not just with medicine, but with humanity. Having access to a specialized center close to home can be the difference between feeling lost and feeling supported.
A stronger, more hopeful future
With this project, Baptist Health reaffirms its commitment to women’s health. And as a community, we celebrate not just the construction of a building, but the creation of a refuge of hope, care, and dignity for every woman who needs it.
Thank you, Baptist, for continuing to invest in what matters most: life.
With love and hope,
